Afeka - The Academic College of Engineering in Tel Aviv recently welcomed Elliot Holick, Founder of the American Friends of Afeka (AFA), for his first official visit to the college.  This visit highlights the expanding international reach and philanthropic development of the college and marked another important milestone in the growing partnership between Afeka and the American Friends of Afeka.

During a full day on campus, Horlick met with the college’s leadership, faculty members, and students, gaining a comprehensive overview of Afeka’s vision, strategic priorities, and educational approach. His visit included a tour of the Student Auto Club, where he met the students developing Afeka’s solar race car, participation in the college’s Career Fair, and a visit to the newly inaugurated Quiet Tent, a dedicated space supporting the wellbeing of reservist students and members of the Afeka community affected by the ongoing war.

The visit concluded with a tour of Afeka’s future campus in Yad Eliyahu, where construction of the first phase is currently underway. Horlick expressed his appreciation for the significant progress made and for the vision behind the new campus, which will substantially expand Afeka’s capacity and strengthen its role in educating Israel’s next generation of engineers.

Reflecting on his visit, Horlick said: "I learned a great deal about Afeka's vision and plans for the future, and it was inspiring to see firsthand all that's happening on campus. Meeting with students and hearing about their projects was a real highlight. Their passion, creativity, and enthusiasm made it clear what a special place Afeka is."

American Friends of Afeka serves as Afeka’s philanthropic organization in the United States, connecting individuals, foundations, and organizations that share the college’s vision of advancing engineering education and innovation. Through philanthropic partnerships, AFA helps support strategic priorities across the college, including the development of the new Yad Eliyahu campus, groundbreaking research, scholarships, support for students serving in the military reserves, and educational initiatives that enrich student life beyond the classroom.

This successful visit further reinforces the strong alliance between Afeka College and American Friends of Afeka, underscoring a mutual commitment to shaping the next generation of engineers, strengthening Israel’s human capital, and investing in the country's technological future.
