American Friends of Afeka hosts and participates in events that bring together supporters, alumni, and partners who share a commitment to advancing engineering education in Israel.
On May 19th, 2026, American Friends of Afeka hosted a lecture and Q&A session in New York City with Professor Yossi Rosenwaks, Ph.D., the President of Afeka College. Professor Rosenwaks discussed the following topics:
- How October 7th and the ensuing wars, including Israel's recent wars with Iran, have impacted engineering academia in Israel.
- How Afeka College is working to decrease the shortage of engineers in Israel and to support Afeka students who are IDF reservists.
- How Israel has positioned itself as a global leader in nanotechnology innovation.
