Additional information about each of these donation options is listed below.

Tax-Deductible Giving
American Friends of Afeka, Inc. is a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) charity (EIN: 39-2485218). Contributions may be tax-deductible in accordance with U.S. law.
To allow for the donation of both cash and non-cash assets, American Friends of Afeka processes donations (other than donations by check, retirement account gifts, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), charitable bequests, life insurance, and Israel bonds) through Every.org (EIN: 61-1913297). You will receive a written acknowledgment or tax receipt, as applicable, from Every.org, American Friends of Afeka, or your donor-advised fund sponsoring organization after making a donation.
For any questions regarding donations, please contact us at donations@friendsofafeka.org. Please click here to see our fundraising disclosures.
*A portion of the proceeds from the Yad Eliyahu Campus Endowment Fund will be allocated annually to support Afeka College’s new Yad Eliyahu Campus in southeastern Tel Aviv, including through student scholarships, and the remaining funds will be reinvested to ensure continual support and enable Afeka College to maintain its long-term commitment to providing a world-class engineering education.

Retirement Account Gifts (All Ages)
Donations from your personal or workplace retirement accounts—including a Traditional IRA, 401(k), or 403(b)—may be made to the General Fund or the Yad Eliyahu Campus Endowment Fund. Account custodians or employer plan administrators will process your distribution and remit funds to American Friends of Afeka by check or electronic transfer, or update your beneficiary designation for a future estate gift.
Distributions: Standard withdrawals from these accounts used for charitable giving may provide tax advantages in accordance with U.S. law, though they are generally treated as taxable income first. Consult your tax advisor to see if itemizing deductions can offset the withdrawal.
To make a distribution by check, please instruct your custodian to issue the funds using the following information:
-
Legal Name: American Friends of Afeka, Inc.
-
Tax ID (EIN): 39-2485218
-
Mailing Address: PO Box 3291, New York, NY 10008
Please note “Endowment” in the memo line of the check or on your transfer paperwork if you wish to contribute to the Yad Eliyahu Campus Endowment Fund. Please contact us at donations@friendsofafeka.org to request electronic transfer instructions for a retirement account distribution.
Beneficiary Designations (Recommended): To name us as a beneficiary of your account, please provide your custodian or employer's HR department with our Legal Name and Tax ID (EIN) listed above to update your beneficiary designation paperwork.
Please notify us at donations@friendsofafeka.org when your gift or beneficiary designation is initiated, and include your name, mailing address, gift designation, and applicable retirement account details so we may properly acknowledge and direct your contribution.
Please contact us at donations@friendsofafeka.org to contribute to a naming opportunity at the Yad Eliyahu campus by retirement account distribution or beneficiary gift.
Important Note for 401(k) and 403(b) Accounts: Under federal law, if you are married, your spouse must sign a notarized waiver to allow you to designate a charity as a beneficiary of an employer-sponsored workplace plan.
Important Note for Roth Accounts: Please note that Roth distributions are already tax-free, meaning you do not receive an added tax benefit for routing them to a charity. While American Friends of Afeka gratefully accepts gifts from all account types, if you plan to leave a portion of your estate to charity and a portion to your loved ones, it is usually more tax-efficient to name American Friends of Afeka as the beneficiary of your Traditional (pre-tax) accounts, and save your Roth accounts for your family.
