Our Mission
American Friends of Afeka empowers the engineers who secure and build Israel’s future at Afeka College—supporting student IDF reservists, advancing Afeka's transformative new engineering campus in southeast Tel Aviv, and driving innovation that strengthens Israel’s security and economy. We enable donors to invest directly in the talent, infrastructure, and resilience that power Israel’s technological and economic strength.
A New Engineering Campus in Southest Tel Aviv
American Friends of Afeka has launched the Yad Eliyahu Campus Endowment Fund to support the construction of Afeka College's new Yad Eliyahu campus. Afeka College has recently begun construction of this pioneering new campus in Tel Aviv's fastest-growing tech hub, the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood in southeast Tel Aviv.
This new campus will serve as a platform for the best engineering education available in Israel, attracting top tech talent and increasing the skilled human capital entering the Israeli high-tech industry.

"Engineering is the new Zionism. The new campus brings that vision to life." - Professor Yossi Rosenwaks, President of Afeka College
Celebrating 30 Years of Afeka
As Afeka College celebrates its 30th anniversary, American Friends of Afeka is honored to stand alongside Afeka in recognizing three decades of transformative contributions to Israeli society and supporting the next generation of engineers, innovators, and leaders shaping Israel’s future.
Our Impact
How we support Afeka College in engineering Israel's future

Innovation that Strenghtens Israel's Security
Afeka graduates represent 10% of Israel’s engineering workforce, with many serving in elite R&D roles within the IDF Medical Corps R&D branch and Unit 8200, directly applying their academic training to Israel's national security

Support for IDF Reservists
42% of Afeka College's 3,400 students have served in the IDF reserves since October 7th.
Thanks to a generous donor contribution, Afeka will establish a “Quiet Tent” on its campus. This tent will serve as a quiet and safe space, allowing for personal coaching, mind-body workshops, and resilience activities for IDF reservists past, present, and future and their families, as well as for anyone who bears the effects of the war.

Defense Minister's Shield Award
In December 2025, Afeka was presented with the Defense Minister’s Shield, a prestigious accolade given to organizations and institutions that have shown extraordinary commitment to reservists. The shield was awarded to Afeka for its broad, consistent support for students and staff who have been called up for reserve duty since the beginning of the Swords of Iron War.

“Supporting the reserve forces is an integral part of Afeka’s DNA. Being awarded the Defense Minister’s Shield is an honor, but the true credit belongs to the serving students, who show extraordinary responsibility, devotion, and leadership. It is our academic, moral, and national obligation to stand by them and give them all they need to succeed.” - Professor Yossi Rosenwaks, President of Afeka College
